Housed in a custom leather clamshell case signed by the noted binder Arno Werner. Tan stapled wraps; 16 pages with five black and white tipped in plates. One of “200 copies printed by Roderick D. Stinehour at the Graphic Arts Workshop, Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire May, 1950.” One of the first commercial printing efforts by Stinehour while still enrolled at Dartmouth, the printing of this item preceding the establishment of his Stinehour Press.
Thoreau MacDonald (1901 – 1989) was a self-taught Canadian illustrator, designer and painter whose color blindness forced him to work mainly in black and white. Major collections of his works are held at many major libraries, including the University of Toronto and Dartmouth College.
